“It’s a perfect time to come back with the X-Files considering global politics”

Said Chris Carter about the eagerly anticipated return of The X-Files. The X-Files was warmly received in Cannes last night with the first episode of the new series airing to a full audience at the MIPCOM Conference.

The X-Files is an American science fiction horror drama television series created by Chris Carter. The program originally aired from September 10, 1993, to May 19, 2002, on Fox, spanning nine seasons and 202 episodes. The series revolves around FBI special agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) investigating X-Files: marginalised, unsolved cases involving paranormal phenomena. And was for a lot of the 95′ generation, my older brother got me hooked on the series, a show to watch. Remember? The X files – Intro – Opening theme – Orginal HQ

But now The X-Files returns to the screens in January 2015 for a six-episode 10th season.

Creator of the show Chris Carter appeared before the audience following the screening at MIPCOM last night telling the crowd:

  • “I never imagined that I‘d be sitting here in Cannes introducing more television episodes! It’s surreal. It’s really a dream come true for me to do something. I’ve been doing this now for roughly a little over a third of my life. I jumped at the chance to do it. Every day I look at the newspaper and I see a possible X-Files episode, so this is obviously something that I did for a longtime and you never quite lose the eye for what would be good X-Files storytelling. It’s a perfect time to come back with the X-Files considering global politics.”  (MediaWeek)

The X-Files will return on Sunday Jan. 24, 2016 at 10 p.m. (ICAL)

How do I get my X-Files fix in the short term? The entire series is available to stream on Netflix, Hulu and Amazon.
