Louis Theroux meets patients at a specialist liver centre struggling with alcohol addiction.

Drinking to Oblivion

British documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux spends time at King’s College Hospital in London – a specialist liver centre – where he immerses himself in the lives of patients in the grips of alcohol addiction and the medical staff trying to make them better.

“I find that the most inexplicable behavior is motivated by very relatable human impulses”

commented Louis Theroux when he headed to Los Angeles last year for another brilliant typical 90-minute feature documentary, this time in collaboration with director John Dower and double Academy Award winning producer Simon Chinn (Searching for Sugar Man, Man on Wire), exploring the Church of Scientology.
