A Movie About Movie Posters

Documentary 24X36 explores the world of movie posters

“I always loved posters just like I love scores and soundtracks. It’s just something around cinema that is more about your imagination, more about what you’re going to be seeing rather than what it is you’re actually seeing. I find that very intoxicating.”  Nicolas Winding Refn (Indiewire)

On August 3rd 2016 Entertainment Weekly exclusive premiered the debut trailer for a new documentary (2016, DIR. KEVIN BURKE, 83 MIN., CANADA), which you can check out below, called “24×36 – A Movie About Movie Posters”

Through interviews with art personalities from the past four decades, 24 x 36 examines the birth, death and resurrection of illustrated movie poster art.

The film world premiered at Fantastic Fest, which took place at Austin, Texas’ Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar cinema from Sept. 22 to Sept. 29.

Unfortunately, the art of the movie poster has become something of a dying breed in the age of blockbusters and studio tentpoles. For every couple ingenious one-sheets, there seems to be about a hundred carbon copies.

24X36: A Movie About Movie Posters is produced by Snowfort Pictures and Post No Joes Productions. In august 2016, the film was looking for U.S. distribution. Contact: info@postnojoes.com W: http://pnjproductions.com/
