Junkie XL – The Dark Knight Rises

With an almost International Worldwide premiere tomorrow night of The Dark Knight Rises I found bit of a Dutch touch in the production. Tom Holkenborg is a Dutch house musician better known as Junkie XL, or JXL. In 2002 Tom had huge success with his Elvis Presley remix of the 1968 single ‘A Little Less Conversation’. It was used in a Nike World Cup commercial and went onto become a number 1 smash in more than 20 countries. Tom has been working with the legendary Feature Film composer Hans Zimmer the last 8 months. “In the beginning I was mainly focusing on electronical pieces with Hans. And this was also the case for The Dark knight Rises. But for Madagascar 3 I also wrote complete orchestral pieces. First we watched the film 6x times with Director Christoper Nolan. Then we had endless and endless brainstorm sessions about how the music needed to be. Hans really loves to experiment. And work together with other composers from different kind of backgrounds.
