“No one can quite say what the creative process is. Because I have nothing to do with it of course. It´s created in space. It´s God´s work, not mine.”

This is a quote from Michael Jackson’s November 13, 1987 Ebony/Jet interview. (VIDEO) It was also included in the BAD25 documentary by the ever brilliant filmmaker Mr. Spike Lee. Ok! let’s start: Michael Jackson was born in 1958, Spike Lee in 1957, Ohhh….let’s not forget Prince was born in 1958 as well. Filmmaker Spike Lee never met Michael in person but with a lot of people of his generation grew up with Micheal’s music. Passionately Lee followed Micheal’s life. And was shocked like everyone else to hear about Micheal’s early death: “I filled my Ipod with all of Micheal’s music and went into a sabbictal of months listening to his music, my family hated me” said Lee to the journalists of this years Venice Film Festival. When the opportunity arose to make a film during this year’s 25th anniversay of the ‘Bad’ album, this with unprecedented access to archive footage Lee immediately grabbed this unique occasion. It was simply going to be a doc. about the making and legacy of Michael Jackson’s canonical 1987 album. The film provides an in-depth look into Jackson’s legendary album with using some amazing archival footage, interviews, behind-the-curtain peek at the making of the music videos with Directors Martin Scorsese, a crying Joe Pytka and Tour videos. The groundbreaking record, released five years after Thriller, sold about 45 million copies worldwide, and it cemented Jackson’s status as the King of Pop. The album also marked the last time MJ collaborated with producer Quincy Jones. Check the trailer here and snippet here!! A-ONE-NOT-TO-MISS!!
