The editors from the Dutch Public broadcaster VPRO, compiled a long list together from the archive of 12.5 years VPRO Backlight Episodes. Dozen of Episodes (ENG Sub or spoken) have been bought by broadcasters from Canada to Korea and from Finland to Argentina. And is an Emmy Award winning and SXSW Interactive Award winning (collapsus.com), weekly (New Season Promo – 18-01-2015 with Thomas Piketty and Naomi Klein), 50-minute, Future Affairs- program, which is centered around socially- critical investigative journalism. It focuses on our globalised world, in which societies, economies and cultures seek a new equilibrium. VPRO Backlight truly does an amazing job to grasp the quintessence of prominent trends and developments. A couple of weeks ago VPRO provided us with a list of 19 episodes in which the public could vote. More than 1,500 people cast their vote. Eventually the number 1 became, Director Alexander Oey’s, Goldman Sachs and the destruction of Greece. It was chosen by 9.6 %, to become VPRO’s favorite Backlight episode ever.
