“Wake up!… let’s reclaim what’s ours….”

Over the last couple of years, the European and American political class has been overwhelmed with sensational scandals: an economic crisis by a true misconstruction of the euro, corruption at Wall street, social unrest in mayor cities in Europe, UK and US overall, legal tax avoidance for mayor corporations, our negative obsession with global warming and high numbers youth employment. All of which Brussels, London and Washington D.C. is trying to solve with simply more bureaucracy. In Italy, rest of Europe and the United States for example mayors of leading cities, regional governors and the former Italian prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi, and US Representatives, even have been implicated in sex, prostitution, drugs scandals. Italian and American politicians basically have taken over the role that normally is played by rock’n’roll legends. This brilliant and timeless 2010 Cannes Silver Lion winner in Film craft (VIDEO – English) (VIDEO – Italian – Original), Directed by Marco Gentile, together with Creative directors Stefania Siani and Federico Pepe (DLV/BBDO Milan) and Rolling Stone Magazine invites rockers to take back what is our simple human right. Francesco Pannofino narrates the original italian film with such dark and sinister precision that even three years after this spot was made nothing has changed within the political class actually and again makes clear that we as a ‘people’ truly have to reclaim what’s ours!!…...SVEGLIAAAA! Read the english text, filled with truth here: “We can no longer pretend that nothing’s happened. Compared with politicians we’re insignificant, semicylindrical fecal conglomerates. Wake uuuuuup! There’s more partying in official state cards then in our back stage reports. Their wire taps are dirtier then our interviews. Even their mothers are more embarrassed than ours are. They are heroic whores and seminal superpowers, but what have we become? Little Girls to marry….Let’s reclaim our alcoholic comas and the stench of passion, let’s go for hedonism instead and stop organising concerts to save whales. Let’s get back to spending winter fucking like rabbits and summer treating our venereal diseases. It’s the only way to reclaim what’s ours. Or it won’t just be power that we leave them, but rock&roll too." WATCH Director Federico Brugia’s Rolling Stone Italy Magazine 2013 spot ‘Rocker vs DJ’ here: VIDEO (Photo credit by Marco Gentile
