BBC Two – The Riots: In Their Own Words (VIDEO)

This incredibly well made 2-part (The Rioters and The Police) 2 hour documentary directed by Fatima Salaria from the BBC aired the last week in the UK. Pulled from interviews conducted by the Guardian and the London School of Economics of those really involved in the East, North London and Tottenham riots last year. This doc puts you in the centre of the turmoil played by actors speaking the words of anonymous interviewees. The series originally scheduled to be shown in July 2012, but was postponed after a judge overseeing a riot related trial in Birmingham issued a court order preventing it from being broadcast.
